Q2. Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 3313.60, did the district offer venereal disease and sexual education instruction during school year 2023-2024?

Q3. Did the school district or school offer course material and instruction in venereal disease and sexual education courses, pursuant to ORC 3313.6011, that do all of the following?
  • Stress that students should abstain from sexual activity until after marriage.
  • Teach the potential physical, psychological, emotional, and social side effects of participating in sexual activity outside of marriage.
  • Teach that conceiving children out of wedlock is likely to have harmful consequences for the child, the child's parents, and society.
  • Stress that sexually transmitted diseases are serious possible hazards of sexual activity.
  • Advise students of the laws pertaining to financial responsibility of parents to children born out of wedlock.
  • Advise students of the circumstances under which it is criminal to have sexual contact with a person under the age of sixteen pursuant to section 2907.04 of the Revised Code.
  • Emphasize adoption as an option for unintended pregnancies.

Yes, a district may request to reopen its audit during the window by contacting Randi Myers

The audit is open from March 18 through Aug. 1, 2024.

Does this audit require evidence to be uploaded?
No, uploaded documents will not be reviewed by the Department and will not impact the district's compliance status.

How many audits does each district need to submit?
Each district must complete one audit per school year.

What are the repercussions of non-compliance?
The Department will send notification of non-compliance to ensure compliance moving forward.
The audit findings is public record; therefore, compliance status will be seen by the public.

Which schools need to complete the audit?
The Department shall conduct an annual audit of each city, local, and exempted village school district, at the start of each school year, relative to its compliance with the instruction requirements of this section and division (A)(5)(c) of section 3313.60 of the Revised Code.

The audit is in the "Monitoring" application within the OH|ID portal.

Who can complete and submit the audit within the district?
Only the superintendent and superintendent designees can complete and submit the audit.

Troubleshooting

There are issues viewing the audit and/or the audit questions.
  1. The monitoring system and the audit works best when using Microsoft Explorer or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Ensure that the correct role has been assigned within the monitoring system such as superintendent and superintendent designee.​
  3. Ensure that the audit is accessed within the correct time period. The audit is open from March 15-Aug. 1, 2023.

There is an error when trying to submit the answers to the audit questions.
Only superintendents and superintendent designees can submit the audit, but other system roles can start the audit and answer the questions. All questions marked as required must be answered before submitting the answers. A green checkmark in the question bar at the top of the application will confirm that all questions are answered.
