Governor DeWine played a pivotal role in initiating Ohio’s Integrated Model Curriculum by championing the opportunity in the 2025 State of the State address aligning with broader literacy initiatives under ReadOhio. House Bill 96 of the 136th Ohio General Assembly also included appropriated funding to support the development and implementation of an integrated model curriculum that includes English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Civics.

Ohio’s Integrated Model Curriculum is designed to blend English language arts, social studies, and civics instruction alongside purposeful technology and life skills integration and to create cohesive, high-quality learning experiences that build academic achievement, responsible citizenship, and real-world readiness for students.
