College Credit Plus Expansion Funding
Teacher Credentialing Grant Fiscal Year 2025 Awardees Announced
Ohio's Biennium Budget for FY 24 and 25, House Bill 33, allocated up to $3,000,000 per fiscal year for grants to support graduate coursework for high school teachers to receive credentialing to teach College Credit Plus courses in a high school setting. Awarded in consultation with the Ohio Department of Higher Education, four awardees will use the funds to cover the costs of tuition, textbooks, and other materials to support teachers across various districts as they work to become credentialed to teach College Credit Plus courses at their high schools.
Grantees for Fiscal Year 2025 include the following:
- Midwest Regional Educational Service Center received $489,470.24
- Hamilton County Educational Service Center received $989,757.59
- Gallia-Vinton Educational Service Center received $806,216.62
- Educational Service Center of Central Ohio received $714,555.55
Grantees for Fiscal Year 2024 were announced April 2024 and include the following:
- Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio received $446,129.97
- Kent State University received $182,275.02
- East Central Ohio Educational Service Center received $919,552.79
- Montgomery County Educational Service Center received $230,364.39
- Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio received $1,221,677.82
College Credit Plus New Course Incentive Payments
New Course Incentive Payments are a new initiative introduced in Ohio’s Biennium Budget, HB33. These funds, distributed by the Department of Education and Workforce, will be issued to districts offering new qualifying College Credit Plus courses for the school years 2024 and 2025.
