How to Receive a State Charter
The process to become a chartered nonpublic school in Ohio begins with the completion of an online tutorial. The online tutorial summarizes each step of the process. To request the tutorial, please submit this form.
Below are the resources needed to satisfactorily complete all requirements and be issued a charter to operate as a chartered nonpublic school:
Please Note: A school’s charter is specific to the name, location, ownership, and grade levels of the school at the time the charter was issued. If the school needs to make a change or add to their charter, they must submit the appropriate documentation within the timeframes outlined by OAC 3301-35-09.
