Class of 2030 and Beyond
As of July 21, 2026, the Industry-Recognized Credential Review Committee has approved new industry-recognized credential graduation requirements for the class of 2030 and beyond. Starting with the high school class of 2030, each student using industry-recognized credentials as a path to graduation fulfills the requirement when they earn either a single approved standalone credential or an approved bundle of credentials.
On August 13, 2026, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce held a virtual Town Hall to give an overview of changes to Ohio's Industry-Recognized Credential system for the high school class of 2030 and beyond.
You can access a recording of the Town Hall Here.
List of Approved Standalone Credentials and Approved Credential Bundles
As of July 2026, the Industry-Recognized Credential Review Committee has approved a list of 70 standalone credentials. These are credentials that carry sufficient weight in their respective industries to lead, on their own, to the next step in a student's postsecondary pathway.
List of approved standalone credentials
As of July 2026, the Industry-Recognized Credential Review Committee has approved an initial list of 21 approved credential bundles. These are credentials that, while they do not have the ability to stand on their own, have value when earned alongside other credentials.

Credential Implementation Tools
The Department of Education and Workforce and its implementation support partners have worked to develop transition tools for any school looking to change, implement or improve their credential offerings. This tool will aid you in cataloging your school's current credential offerings and to chart a path towards new credential pathways aligned to the updated framework.

Credential Data and Dashboard
A data dashboard displaying the value of every Ohio industry-recognized credential is available on the Department reports portal. This tool displays all available data used to evaluate each credential.
The tool is built on an 18-point value framework that leads to scores for each credential. You can learn about the value framework here. The Industry-Recognized Credential Review Committeee used these scores in the approval of standalone credentials and bundles.
Credential Applications
The Department opened an application for new credentials and new credential bundles on Aug. 1, 2026. This application will be open through Oct. 31, 2026. Open applications can be found here.
