Ohio Military Veteran Educator Program Grants
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce funds grants with institutions of higher learning to assist service members, veterans, and their spouses with becoming educators.
EmpowerVetEd Grant
The EmpowerVetEd grant is designed to reduce barriers for military-connected individuals seeking to enroll in and complete a traditional educator preparation program. Through this grant, participating institutions offer financial incentives and support to help eligible participants complete these programs. EmpowerVetEd supports individuals pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education, as well as those adding credits to an existing degree to obtain teacher licensure.
The Department is not currently accepting new grantees. Colleges or universities interested in participating in future grants should contact OhioMVEP@education.ohio.gov.
Grant funding is provided directly to participating institutions. Military-connected individuals interested in this grant should contact a participating college or university to learn about their specific program.
