FLICS updates needed

Community schools should enter data on economically disadvantaged students into the SOES system by October 30 in order to qualify for Title I federal funding.  Beginning October 31, assigned school personnel can enter the Federal Low-Income Count System (FLICS) through the SAFE portal to review data submitted through SOES.  More information on reporting of economically disadvantaged students for state and federal funding purposes can be found on page 29 of the revised SOES Manual:

Foundation payment calculator available for community schools

ODE has posted a foundation payment “calculator” for community schools to estimate state foundation aid payments. The calculator allows the user to input data such as the number and type of students from each resident district, and see the resulting payment amount for FY2014. Access the calculator at http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Finance-and-Funding/State-Funding-For-Schools/Community-School-Funding/Community-School-Payment-Report-Calculator

For questions about foundation payments, contact your school finance area coordinator.  Questions about SOES can be directed to soes@education.ohio.gov
