PBIS Recognition, Visitation and Showcase
Ohio’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Recognition System provides an opportunity for schools and districts to be recognized for creating school environments that are positive, predictable, safe and equitable. PBIS aligns with Ohio’s Whole Child Framework by creating safe and supportive schools and prioritizing its five components.
Each year, the Ohio Department of Education and the PBIS Network recognize schools and districts for their quality and fidelity of PBIS implementation. Schools are eligible to receive awards at the bronze, silver or gold levels of distinction. In 2021, 355 schools and districts received recognition.
The application for the 2021-2022 PBIS Recognition System is open through May 1, 2022.
2021-2022 Application Process
Schools and districts that would like to apply for recognition of their implementation efforts for the 2020-2021 school year should complete the 2020-2021 PBIS Application by May 1, 2022. Applicants must complete the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) and TFI Walkthrough Tool for the following award levels:
- Bronze: TFI Tier 1
- Silver: TFI Tier 1 & 2
- Gold: TFI Tier 1, 2 & 3
Applicants must submit the Application information and Digital JPG Photo available in the 2021-2022 PBIS Application. The Student Profile Template data and the PBIS Report Card Measure information is to be used for team reflection and future action planning and is not included in the scoring at this time.
All schools and districts must submit their application materials to their regional State Support Team PBIS consultant by May 1, 2022. State Support Team consultants will review applications using the revised January 2022 PBIS Network approved scoring rubrics available in the application. These scoring rubrics are designed to ensure consistent scoring across the state.
