PBIS for Administrators

Administrators seeking additional information in this regard are referred to the materials in the reference material section (left navigation menu).

School administrators establishing a PBIS framework in their schools are encouraged to review the Ohio PBIS Recognition Awards System rubric. You may wish to align your efforts to the proposed Ohio Recognition Awards System in order to prepare your school for eventual recognition in this system.

Additionally, Ohio school administrators will note that the current Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OPES) specifically identifies PBIS practices as representative of “Accomplished” level practices. Element 3.1 (Principals establish and maintain a safe school environment) specifies the following:

“Principal promotes and implements a school-wide system for behavioral support and intervention.”
