Featured School: Montgomery County ESC
This Whole Child Network webinar focused on sustainability. Guidance was provided on how to coordinate policies, processes and practices grounded in the continuous improvement process and how federal funding sources can be used to support a whole child approach. Jessica Davies and Amanda Deeter from the Montgomery County ESC shared how they have built capacity for a whole child approach and continue to sustain their efforts.

Feb. 14, 2023: Engaging All Students
Featured: Crestview Local School District
The focus of February’s Whole Child Network webinar was student engagement. Board Member Mark Lamoncha and administrators from Crestview Local School District were the featured speakers for the webinar. Lamoncha and Crestview Schools shared how students are engaged in STEM education and workforce development initiatives. Crestview Local School District partners with Humtown and other local businesses to engage students in the community in meaningful ways.

Nov. 15, 2022: Supporting the Health of All Students
Featured: Fort Frye Local School District
Fort Frye Local School District and the Washington County Health Department shared how they address the health of students and the community in this webinar. Their partnership addresses multiple facets of health, such as: nutrition, physical activity, tobacco prevention and mental health. Staff, students and families are involved in community-led health initiatives, such as a farm-to-school program and plans for building a multi-use path.

Oct. 25, 2022: How do we focus on supporting the needs of the whole child?
Featured: Ohio Association of Student Leaders
This Whole Child Network webinar focused on supporting the needs of the whole child. Students from the Ohio Association of Student Leaders shared how schools and districts can best support student needs. Lisa Westman, author of the book, Teaching with Empathy, shared how to how educators can better understand learners and create meaningful connections.

Sept. 27, 2022: Comprehensive School Safety
Featured School: Marysville Exempted Village School District
This Whole Child Network webinar focused on the tenet of safety and highlighted Marysville Exempted Village School District as an exemplar for comprehensive school safety. Mark Gallagher, Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Coordinator, discussed Marysville’s prevention programming, universal screening and surveying and intervention programs.

Feb. 22, 2022: Preparing for Takeoff, Your Plan for Whole Child Framework Implementation
Featured School: Beavercreek City School
Dr. Bobbi Fiori, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Special Services at Beavercreek City Schools shares the development of their districts action plan for implementation of the Whole Child Framework at Beavercreek City Schools. Dr. Fiori discusses team development, needs assessment, data to determine target areas, goal setting, and sustainability of whole child initiatives.

March 21, 2022: Planning for Whole Child Initiatives based on the Ohio Improvement Process
Featured School: Mansfield City Schools
Jonathan Burras, Director of Special Education, and Dahni Reynolds, District Board Certified Behavior Analyst from Mansfield City Schools, share their district's whole child approach to education. They discuss how the district used the Ohio Improvement Process and the One Needs Assessment to analyze district data. Mansfield City Schools uses data to identify areas of need and direct implementation of a whole child multi-tiered system of supports.

April 18, 2022: So How Do We Do This? Real world examples to serve the whole child!
Featured School: Wickliffe City School District
Wickliffe City School District discusses how they meet the needs of the whole child through the implementation of their Family Resource Center. Joe Spiccia, superintendent, explains the importance of creating the center, how the district got started, what challenges the district discovered and how the district overcame them. Participants take a virtual tour of the Family Resource Center and learn about the services provided to students and families: healthcare services, workforce development services and services to support the entire family.

May 16, 2022: Work Smarter, Not Harder: How to use evaluation and reflection to improve implementation

Lindy Douglas, superintendent from Alexander Local Schools in Athens County, discusses staffing and partner agencies that are dedicated to meeting the needs of the whole child. Superintendent Douglas shares the impact that whole child implementation has had on Alexander Local School District and reflects on whole child initiatives and adjustments in services to meet student needs.
