2022 Spring Grades 3-8 and End-of-Course Administrations

Score Report Labels: Districts that wish to receive a set of score reporting labels for the Spring 2022 OST test administration must enter their requests in the “Score Reporting Label Request” task in TIDE by May 6.

2022 Spring Mathematics, Science and Social Studies Online Test Results Reporting Early

In response to district and stakeholder feedback, the Office of Assessment worked with the test vendor to accelerate the release of student performance results for certain Ohio’s State Tests. Preliminary results will be available in the Centralized Reporting System (CRS) for grades 3-high school mathematics, science, and social studies online assessments earlier than ever before. These results will be available beginning May 10. With early reporting, districts have the benefit of receiving actionable data before the end of the school year. This can aid in decision-making for graduation; summer testing notification and intervention programs; evaluation of student progress and planning for the following school year.
Aggregate test results (class, school, district and state) will reflect only currently reported results and will update throughout the spring reporting window as additional results are released. Additional information can be found here.

May 1 Deadline on Paper Test Option for the 2022-2023 Third-Grade Assessments

Ohio law allows the option of paper or online administration for third-grade state assessments (Ohio State Tests and the Alternate Assessment for Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities). A district board of education or governing authority must make the choice to use paper tests and submit a board or governing authority resolution to the Department by May 1 for the following school year. District superintendents and test coordinators received a secure link from Ohio Meetings to specify which grade 3 assessments (English language arts, mathematics, or both) they will administer in paper format for the 2022-2023 school year and to upload the resolution authorizing that choice. A district or community school does not need to submit a resolution if it:
  • gives only online tests to third graders. (Paper accommodations will still be available as accessibility features without a board or governing authority resolution.); or
  • does not test third graders.
