Teacher Assessment Scoring Center (TASC) replaces Teacher Hand Scoring System (THSS)

The Teacher Assessment Scoring Center (TASC) has replaced the Teacher Hand Scoring System (THSS). TASC is the new system through which authorized district and school staff will enter and submit scores for students’ spoken and written responses from Step Three of the OELPS. Scoring the responses locally ensures the timelier identification of students as English learners. The TASC is an upgraded system to the previously used THSS. The TASC has an improved user interface, is integrated with the Centralized Reporting System, and eliminates the burden of managing scorer assignments as any local school staff with an authorized user account may score the responses. To access the TASC, users will need the Teacher (TE) role. Users with the Test Administrator role (TA) will not have access to the TASC. The TASC User Guide, posted on the portal, provides step-by-step instructions to staff who will score OELPS responses in TASC.

OELPS and TASC Webinar: The Department and Cambium Assessment will post a pre-recorded webinar to the OELPA OELPS portal early next week. to present information needed for the 2022-2023 OELPS administration, including an overview of the new TASC.
