Resource Book State Tests, Kindergarten-Grade 12

The Resource Book is posted on the Department website. The Resource Book provides an overview of the Kindergarten-Grade 12 testing program requirements and access to many helpful resources pertaining to state policy. It does not include information on test administration procedures or technical system requirements.

Online Reporting System (ORS) to Centralized Reporting System (CRS) Transition

All newly reported test administrations, beginning with OST Summer 2021, are now reported only in the CRS. All prior test administrations reporting data previously housed in the ORS is now migrated to the CRS. The ORS will be deactivated on Oct. 17. For additional information on the transition see the ORS to CRS Transition FAQ and CRS Resources or contact the Ohio Help Desk at 1-877-231-7809.

Student Results File Layout Updated

The 2021-2022 Student Results Data File Layout is available on the test portal. The layout defines how data exported from the CRS is populated and formatted and other important details. Please provide this layout to EMIS Coordinators, data managers or other personnel involved in reporting assessment results. Data files generated in the CRS are largely the same as those generated in the ORS and changes are noted in red. The layout file is expanded to provide greater clarity around when and how fields are populated.

Upcoming Scheduled Maintenance

Cambium Assessment will be conducting periodic maintenance of the testing systems to ensure system stability and reliability throughout the school year. During the maintenance period some or all of the assessment systems, including the TA Interface, may be inaccessible. The next maintenance period will occur on Saturday, Oct. 9, beginning at 9 a.m. and can last up to 24 hours.

Updated Performance Range Level

Substitute House Bill 82 (134th General Assembly) has updated the naming of the performance level previously known as accelerated. Beginning with the Fall 2021 test administrations, the accelerated level will be known as accomplished. All data files, score reports and family reports will be updated to reflect this change. There is no change in the performance level cut scores for this range. The names of the other performance levels (limited, basic, proficient and advanced) remain the same.
