Test Security

Please contact Katie Hahn to report a possible test security violation or other test incident. When asking questions or reporting possible test security issues, please do not send student names or any part of secure test questions. Refer to Ohio Test Security Provisions and Procedures located in the Resources section on the Department’s Testing webpage for information about maintaining test security, reporting security incidents, test invalidations, district investigations, and consequences for prohibited behavior.

Quick Bits

The Office of Assessment provides a series of short videos called Quick Bits. These 2–7-minute videos cover common testing topics including:  A full list of the currently available Quick Bits can be found on the Assessment Training Resources page of the Department’s website. Please check back often as new Quick Bits are still being added. Should you have any questions or ideas for new topics, please contact the Office of Assessment at statetests@education.ohio.gov or 1-614-466-1317.

Office of Assessment Office Hours

The Office of Assessment will resume its bi-weekly office hours, ChatOST 2.0, during the OST administration window.
 
ChatOST 2.0 provides an opportunity for Department staff, test coordinators, and administrators to discuss topics of importance regarding Ohio’s State Tests. The first portion of the office hour will be a short presentation followed by an open Question and Answer session.
 
ChatOST 2.0 will be held on the following Fridays from 2-3 p.m. and discuss these topics:
  • April 4: Review of Quick Bits
  • April 18: Navigating Resources on the OST Test Portal
  • May 2: Testing Wrap-Up and Score Reporting

Cambium System Enhancements

CRS - New ISR Quick Print and Student Portfolio Improvement

A new feature is now available in the CRS to help generate ISRs more quickly. The quick print button

appears next to student names on Performance on Test reports and next to test names in the Student Portfolio. Clicking this button will immediately generate a PDF of the ISR for that student and test. This feature allows teachers and other users to easily generate an ISR without needing to use the Student Results Generator.
 
In addition, the Student Portfolio has received an improvement. The Test Reason filter has been removed. Now when using the student portfolio, all of the student’s tests will automatically be displayed for the selected year(s).

Assessment Authoring - Additional Information in Item Grid

In response to feedback from schools and districts, additional information is now available on the item grid when viewing items. Depth of Knowledge (DOK) and Calculator status will show when opening the item details.
