Spring 2024 Released Items

Released items from the spring 2024 Ohio’s State Tests have been added to the Student Practice Site. The items give educators insight into the kinds of questions students experience and are a useful tool to inform classroom instruction and assessment. Both teachers and parents can use the items to help students know what types of items to expect when taking summative (operational) tests. Along with the released items are the Item Scoring Guides. Assessment Authoring

Assessment Authoring, launched in August 2023, enables teachers to create their own tests from a large bank of Ohio test items. Teachers may administer these tests to their students using the Test Delivery System, and view results in the Centralized Reporting System (CRS). Training materials are available on the test portal.
 
Additional items will be available in Assessment Authoring in September for both the OST and Alternate Assessment for Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD) item banks. Refer to the Assessment Authoring article in the Back-to-School issue of the District Test Coordinator Newsletter (July 2024) for more information.
 

Summer Results and Rescore and Verification Request Window

Summer test results are now available in the CRS. Review the Rescores and Verifications Guidance document for instructions. Rescore requests may be placed in TIDE Aug. 6-Sept.13.
 

Dropout Prevention and Recovery (DOPR) Extended Window End-of-Course (EOC) Test Administration and Order Window

For approved 2024-2025 DOPR community schools, the fall DOPR extended window test administration is Sept. 16-Nov. 22. All eligible students testing during the DOPR extended window must be marked in TIDE with the DOPR attribute set to “Y.”
 
Paper test booklets are only available for students with an accommodation documented in an IEP or 504 plan. Test booklets can be requested by calling the Ohio Help Desk at 1-877-231-7809 from Sept. 3-Nov. 20 and providing SSIDs, subjects, and testing dates. Note that there are no answer documents for the DOPR test administration. The test administrator must enter the responses into the Data Entry Interface (DEI) immediately after testing.
 

Fall Grade 3 English Language Arts (ELA) and High School (HS) End-of-Course (EOC) Tests On-Time Order Window

The fall grade 3 ELA test administration window is Oct. 14-Nov. 1. The on-time order window in TIDE is Aug. 13-19. Districts that submitted board resolutions in the spring are required to act in this window to receive paper test materials.
 
The fall HS EOC ELA, mathematics, science, and social studies test administration window is Dec. 2, 2024-Jan. 17, 2025. The high school EOC on-time order window in TIDE is Sept. 10-16.
 
All orders are subject to Department approval. District test coordinators (DTCs) must complete the steps in the Fall 2024 OST Supplemental Instructions for Paper Testing manual to receive test materials.
