  • OST Spring 2024 released items
  • Spanish versions of math, science, and social studies OST items
  • Additional OST ELA passages
  • AASCD Spring 2024 released items
  • Additional AASCD items
  • New and updated Test Libraries
    • OST Spring 2024 Released Item tests
    • AASCD Spring 2024 Released Item tests
    • Revised Readiness Assessment tests to match the revisions made for 2024-2025

Assessment Authoring Spanish Bilingual Tests

With the addition of Spanish versions of math, science, and social studies OST items, users can now create Spanish bilingual tests in Assessment Authoring.

When building a test in Assessment Authoring, the language can be set to English or Spanish. If both English and Spanish versions are needed, first build the test in English, then copy the test and set the language of the copy to Spanish.

The version a student will receive is not controlled by student settings in TIDE or the TA Interface. Instead, both versions of the test need to be included in the test session. Students then select the correct version of the test depending on their language preference. To aid this, be sure to use test names that make the language clear.

Once the student selects the Spanish test, the rest of the user experience is the same as the OST English-Spanish Bilingual accommodation. The user interface elements are in Spanish and the student can use the language toggle to switch the test questions between Spanish and English.

For more information on building a Spanish bilingual test in Assessment Authoring, refer to the Assessment Authoring User Guide.

ChromeOS Secure Browser for 2025

With the upcoming (early 2025) release of ChromeOS version 133 on the Stable channel, a required setting for the Secure Browser will no longer be enabled by default. No later than December 2024, district technology staff must utilize one of the options below to continue using the Secure Browser for student testing on ChromeOS devices.
  1. Ensure all devices are on the Long-Term Support (LTS) channel or the Long-Term Support Candidate (LTC) channel. For more information on these channels, visit Long-term Support (LTS) on ChromeOS.
OR
  1. Enable the NativeClientForceAllowed (NaCl) setting in the ChromeOS Management Console for devices on the Stable channel. For more information on enabling NaCl, visit Chrome Enterprise Policy List & Management | Documentation.
Taking these actions now ensures that the ChromeOS Secure Browser will be usable for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Anticipate future communications on a new Secure Browser later this winter.

TIDE Updates

Some enhancements to TIDE will be available starting on Nov. 11. These include:
  • The ability to save searches as favorites in Plan & Manage Testing.
  • Better sorting of test tickets, which will now be grouped by roster, grade, and then alphabetically by name.
  • The ability to download all of a district’s rosters.
Details will be available in the TIDE User Guide, which will also be updated on Nov. 11.

System Banner Notifications

A new capability is available to communicate information quickly to users in the rare event of a systemwide issue. System banner notifications can be displayed in TIDE, the TA Interface, and the CRS. An example of a notification in TIDE is pictured below. Additional information on this feature can be found in the user guides for these systems on the test portal.
