ACT/SAT Spring 2025 – Initial Outreach by Vendors

The initial contact from ACT and College Board was sent at the end of October. Districts and schools that have not received a communication from their chosen test vendor should contact Michael Reiser: Michael.Reiser@education.ohio.gov.

ACT’s PANext (Pearson Access Next) platform is scheduled to open on Nov. 4. DTCs will then be able to choose their testing mode, select the initial date of testing, and upload rosters of students expected to test in the spring.

College Board’s first SAT Monthly Newsletter was sent to DTCs and building test coordinators (BTCs) in participating districts and schools at the end of October. Test coordinators will continue to receive newsletters each month with timelines for completing pre-administration activities as well as providing links to pre-administration resources.

WorkKeys Assessments Scoring Update-Department shifting required competency score

The Department is updating the required “Workforce Readiness” score for the WorkKeys Assessments. The required competency score will shift to a minimum score of “4” on each of the three assessments: Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents. This aligns to the Silver National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) issued by ACT WorkKeys.

This score will be effective for the 2024-2025 school year for students utilizing WorkKeys, and it is effective immediately for adult learners who are using WorkKeys to complete their Adult Diploma requirements. If a learner would like to use a previous score on the assessments to apply to these new requirements, they may do so by reaching out to their relevant education partners.

For any questions about the score change, contact the Department’s Graduate Success team at gradrequirements@education.ohio.gov or the Adult Options team at highschoolcontinuation@education.ohio.gov.
