2024-2025 Ohio Assessment Conference

The virtual Ohio Assessment Conference on Sept. 10-12 was a great success. Participants heard sessions about a variety of topics related to Ohio’s assessment programs. The slide presentations are posted on the test portal on the 2024-2025 Ohio Assessment Conference page and recordings of the conference sessions will soon be available. Speech-to-Text (STT) Requests

The Department released the new Decision-Making Tool for Written Response Accommodations in the Ohio Accessibility Manual for Ohio’s State Tests in Appendix C. This tool serves as a checklist to assist Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams and 504 plan coordinators to determine eligibility for use of the embedded STT feature. If IEP teams and 504 plan coordinators determine that a student is eligible for STT, they must provide their District Test Coordinators (DTCs) with page 6 only of the Decision-Making Tool for Written Response Accommodations. DTCs will use this information to submit STT requests in TIDE under the Create Accommodation Requests task beginning in early October. For guidance on how to use the “Create Accommodation Requests” task, DTCs should refer to the TIDE User Guide.

The Office of Assessment is pleased to introduce new virtual office hour opportunities between Department staff and testing coordinators—ChatOST.
 
Before and during OST administration windows, Office of Assessment staff will be available on selected Fridays at 2 p.m. to answer questions and discuss topics of importance regarding the OSTs.
 
The fall OST test administration office hours will be on the following Fridays from 2 p.m.-3 p.m:

• October 11
• October 25
• November 8
• November 22
• December 6
• January 10

 
Additional office hours may be included if needed and additional ChatOST sessions may be provided during the spring OST test administration.
