As part of the Third Grade Reading Guarantee, the Ohio Department of Education is required to ensure all approved Research-Based Reading Instruction Programs align with the State Board’s reading competencies. The department reviewed these programs and has released the official list of Research-Based Reading Instruction Programs for the 2014-2015 school year.
On June 4, the Ohio General Assembly passed the Mid-Biennium Review, which contains a variety of key education measures. This analysis, prepared by the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, includes summaries of the provisions that will become law when signed by Gov. Kasich.
