A selection of test questions that were given on the PARCC assessment last year are now available online. While Ohio is no longer using PARCC, these items are a useful tool to inform classroom instruction and give parents insight into the kinds of questions students experienced on tests.
Through a memorandum of understanding with Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, the Ohio Department of Education invites new and experienced licensed elementary and middle school teachers to apply to the Teaching in Taiwan program. The selected educators teach English to students in Taiwan for one academic year. Teaching contracts are from 10 to 11 months, depending on the placement.
The Ohio Achievement Assessments (OAA) will no longer be administered. Ohio’s state test in grade 3 English language arts replaces the third grade reading OAA and will meet the requirements of the Third Grade Reading Guarantee. Additional information regarding cut scores will be forthcoming.

The Ohio Teacher Showcase Project highlights ways that Ohio teachers are using technology to support student learning of specific content from Ohio’s Learning Standards. Teams of Ohio educators have documented their teaching practices through video and lesson materials to provide concrete examples of technology integration. This collection currently includes products from the pilot year of the project that address the Learning Standards for English language arts.
