Through a memorandum of understanding with Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, the Ohio Department of Education invites new and experienced licensed elementary and middle school teachers to apply to the Teaching in Taiwan program. The selected educators teach English to students in Taiwan for one academic year. Teaching contracts are from 10 to 11 months, depending on the placement.

Program coordinators for the Ohio Resident Educator Program at any Ohio public school district may now submit reimbursement requests for funds that have supported their local programs. The maximum funding amount is $350 for each first-year resident educator working in a public district, chartered community school, educational service center, career center or joint vocational school. The funds, which may not be allocated to private preschool or chartered nonpublic organizations, will come from the Ohio Department of Education’s Race to the Top administrative dollars.

The message includes information about resources to help in segmenting portions of their videos for submission. Also, the hours for the Help Desk at Teachscape are listed.
The Ohio Department of Education has extended the deadline to submit Task 1 for the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) by one week to midnight, Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013. The extension is granted to give candidates additional time to complete the “My Profile” section, to complete Task 1 and to resolve any issues related to uploading and segmenting video.
