McKinney-Vento Homeless Resources for Awareness

The purpose of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Children and Youth Program is to ensure that all children and youth, including preschoolers, have equal access to the same free and appropriate public education, as non-homeless children and youth.

McKinney-Vento Competitive Grant for Homeless Students Information

Fiscal Year 2018 2017-2018 school year

An Ohio school district or community school that has 45 or more students identified as homeless (current grantees | eligible districts) is eligible to compete for the McKinney-Vento federal grant.

Fiscal Year 2019 2018-2019 school year

Regarding FY 19 and the 2018-2019 school year, the Department will host a webinar and two bidders conferences in January for attendees to learn more about the McKinney-Vento grant opportunity. Interested districts may sign up to participate in the webinar or conference through STARS.
