McKinney-Vento Homeless Resources for Awareness
The purpose of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Children and Youth Program is to ensure that all children and youth, including preschoolers, have equal access to the same free and appropriate public education, as non-homeless children and youth.
McKinney-Vento Competitive Grant for Homeless Students Information
An Ohio school district or community school that has 45 or more students identified as homeless (EMIS Enrollment Data) is eligible to compete for the McKinney-Vento federal grant.
Regarding FY 19 and the 2018-2019 school year, the Department will host a webinar and two bidders conferences in January for attendees to learn more about the McKinney-Vento grant opportunity. Interested districts may sign up to participate in the webinar or conference through STARS.
