Classes of 2021 and 2022 Graduation Requirements

State law introduced new, permanent graduation requirements that are available for the classes of 2021 and beyond. Students entering ninth grade between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2019, have the option to meet the new requirements outlined for the class of 2023 and beyond or meet the requirements of the original three pathways to graduation. 

Classes of 2023 and Beyond Graduation Requirements

State law introduced new, long-term graduation requirements for students in the class of 2023 and beyond. Students entering ninth grade after July 1, 2019, must meet the new requirements outlined in state law. Department staff are working to update the graduation webpages and guidance documents. Please check back often.  


GRADUATION SEALS

Ohio law requires that seals earned by students using these graduation requirements be affixed to the student’s diploma. The Ohio Department of Education has designed the seals linked below for this purpose. Schools and Districts can use whatever method meets their local needs to affix these seals to their students’ diplomas.

Class of 2020 Graduation Requirements

As a student who entered grade 9 between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017, you have multiple pathways to earn a high school diploma so that you can move on to your next steps in education or a career. 

Classes of 2018 and 2019 Graduation Requirements

As a student who entered grade 9 between July 1, 2014, and June 30, 2016, you have multiple pathways to earn a high school diploma so that you can move on to your next steps in education or a career.
