School Improvement Grants (SIG) (Competitive)

The Office of Improvement and Innovation administers the School Improvement Grant 1003g (SIG).  This grant is focused upon providing support and oversight to build the capacity of districts/schools to engage in inclusive, continuous, and targeted improvement in order to raise student achievement that is sustainable. 

Beginning on September 26, 2016 the application window for Cohort 4 and Cohort 5 will open. All applications are due in the CCIP no later than 5:00 PM on November 18th, 2016.
The Ohio Department of Education is offering an informational webinar for eligible SIG 1003(g) applicants on September 28, 2016. Get details and register in STARS using the keyword SIG.
We will also be offering two face to face meeting in conjunction with the Office of Federal Programs Federal Network Trainings on September 29 (Dayton) and October 5 (Canton).

2012-2014 School Years (Cohort 2 - FY2010 Funds )

In FY11, eight Transformation Specialists guided 41 identified SIG buildings through the implementation and monitoring of one of four intervention models.  In FY12, eight ODE Transformation Specialists and 5 ONET Specialists guided 85 identified SIG buildings through the implementation and monitoring of one of four intervention modes.
