What has gone wrong in the lives of our teens and why at such an alarming rate? Despite the critical nature of this question, there are no clear answers. There is, however, a great deal of speculation, and many say our kids’ use of social media contributes to this high suicide rate.
The holidays are meant to be a joy-filled season of gathering with friends and relatives, enjoying festive lights and music, exchanging goodies and giving generously. However, when time and money are stretched, relationships are strained and expectations are not met, what is meant to be a time of celebration may become a time of overwhelming stress, leading many to turn to unhealthy coping behaviors, including alcohol and other drug use.

The State Board of Education has approved several Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) rule changes that now affect educators seeking supplemental, short-term substitute and alternative resident educator licenses. Another rule change will assist educators who have worked at schools out of state when they wish to renew their Ohio professional educator licenses.
