The Ohio Department of Education no longer sponsors the NCCER (formerly National Center for Construction Education and Research) construction curriculum. The transfer was completed at the end of June, 2018.
The Department is divesting itself of the sponsorship because NCCER is now a recognized industry credential on the state’s approved list of credentials. Remaining the curriculum sponsor could expose the Department to potential conflicts of interest.
Associated Building Contractors was the original NCCER curriculum sponsor some years ago. The Department will work with ABC on the sponsorship transfer to ensure a smooth transition for schools. The Department will continue to answer schools’ questions about the curriculum and to enter training models in the registry system.
