***NCCER Announcement***

The Ohio Department of Education will no longer sponsor the NCCER (formerly National Center for Construction Education and Research) construction curriculum. The transfer will take place with groups of schools rather than all schools at once and will be finished by June 2018. Look for details in the coming weeks on the Department’s website and in EdConnection.

The Department is divesting itself of the sponsorship because NCCER is now a recognized industry credential on the state’s approved list of credentials. Remaining the curriculum sponsor could expose the Department to potential conflicts of interest.

Associated Building Contractors was the original NCCER curriculum sponsor some years ago. The Department will work with ABC on the sponsorship transfer to ensure a smooth transition for schools. The Department will continue through the school year to answer schools’ about the curriculum and entering training models in the registry system.
