Performance Levels for Alternate Assessments Corrected
On Thursday morning, staff identified an issue that is causing incorrect performance levels to be assigned to some alternate assessments. This is not an issue with the alternate assessment data submitted by districts in the EMIS Data Collector, but rather is a problem occurring as ODE processes the files. As of Thursday afternoon, the issue has been fixed, but ODE will need to re-process the test data this weekend to update the tests to the correct performance level. On Monday, once the Secure Data Center has been updated, users will see the tests assigned to their correct range based on the scale score reported in EMIS. Note that some districts and schools will see changes to their Performance Index Score and to their ELA and math proficiency calculations in the Gap Closing component as both calculations use performance level data. The FY22 Spring Alternate Assessment (A) Collection is open through August 5.

SDC Reports for Community School Sponsors
On Wednesday, July 13, a new series of reports specifically created for community school sponsors were made available in the Secure Data Center (SDC) through the Report Portal. The new reports will make it easier for those sponsors with many schools to review data quickly by allowing the users to choose some or all the schools they sponsor versus only being able to run data for a single school at a time. To comply with student privacy laws, the new reports allow sponsors to see aggregated data only.

To gain access to these new reports, an employee of a sponsor will need to hold the role of “Primary Contact” or “Secondary Contact” in the Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS). Each sponsor should have an employee in the organization who holds the role of “OEDS Administrator”. This person is responsible for giving other employees roles within the OEDS system. Sponsors who have questions about the Report Portal or need help in getting employees added to OEDS with the correct roles can feel free to reach out to Marianne Mottley at Marianne.mottley@education.ohio.gov.
