The Ohio Department of Education has worked with the Ohio Education Research Center (OERC) to develop an analysis of the supply and demand for kindergarten through grade 12 teachers in Ohio. This study identifies where there are shortages (and excesses) of teachers across locations, grade levels and subjects taught (including specialized classes i.e. vocational or special education). This study also forecasts future changes to the supply and demand for Ohio teachers. This forecast can inform policy makers, teacher preparation programs, school districts and educational service centers in forming strategic plans as they relate to teacher supply and demand.
Childhood Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) places both boys and girls at an increased risk for teenage substance abuse (according to a large-scale study conducted by the University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences).
