Farm to School Initiative

The Ohio Farm to School Initiative is part of the USDA national network and encompasses many local, state and regional partners. Ohio's Farm to School Initiative provides youth, pre-K through college, with access to nutritious meals, while supporting local farmers and communities. This program is intended to provide children with fresh, locally grown or raised food, and to educate them about many aspects of agriculture and their community.

Farm to School Census

The Farm to School Census is now open to school food service authorities (SFA) in Ohio. Feedback and information submitted by SFA is a key part of the Farm to School Census and Comprehensive Review, a 3-year study that will examine and describe the multiple facets of farm to school across the country. SFA directors should have received an email from the USDA contracted vendor, Abt Associates, with an individual survey link to complete the census. Surveys are open to complete now through mid-November.
