GED® “See For Free” Promotion  Two week promotion (September 22, 2014 – October 3, 2014)

See For Free

From September 22 - October 3, 2014, all students can take the GED Ready™ practice test for free at their local adult education center. Students can see whether they’re ready to pass the GED® test and get a personalized study plan to help focus their studying so they can score higher.  Locate a 2014 Adult Education Center and Practice Center below.

When students take GED Ready™, they get their Enhanced Score Report, which:

  • Tells if a student is likely to pass the GED® test
  • Shows what skills a student needs to work on to score higher
  • Provides a personalized study plan that gives you the exact pages and chapters to review with your students in popular study books

The GED Ready™ Practice Test Guarantee: If students take GED Ready™ and score “Likely to Pass”, we guarantee they’ll pass that GED® test subject. If they don’t, we’ll (GED® Testing Service) will pay for their retake! Students must take the GED® test within 60 days of scoring “Likely to Pass” on GED Ready™ for the guarantee to be valid.

Eligibility Guidelines:

To be eligible for the GED Ready™ Practice Test Guarantee, you must continue to meet all jurisdiction’s eligibility requirements, take the GED Ready™ practice test during the promotion timeframe (September 22 - December 31, 2014), achieve a “likely to pass” score on the GED Ready™ test subject, and take the same test subject within 60 calendar days of the GED Ready™ test date shown on your MyGED™ account. (This means that students, who take the GED Ready on Dec. 31 and meet all other qualifications, can redeem their Free Retake Offer for 60 days into 2015). Void outside the United States or where prohibited.

Preparation Materials

There are new scoring requirements that an applicant must achieve to earn an Ohio GED®.

The GED® test will have a passing score of 150 for each subject. Therefore, students will need to reach a score of at least 150 on each subject and a total score of 600 or higher across all four subjects in order to receive the GED® test credential. Students may also earn an “Honors” score if they receive a score of 170 or higher on any subject. See below for the full score scale:

  • Below Passing: 100 – 149
  • Passing Score: 150 – 169
  • Honors Passing Score: 170 – 200

Additional information can be found at:

The four subjects tested on the GED® are Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA), Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies.
