Funding request available for feminine hygiene product dispensers through Sept. 15

8/28/2023

Effective Oct. 3, 2023, Ohio law requires each school district, community school and chartered nonpublic school that enrolls girls in grades six through 12 to provide free menstrual products. For more information, visit the Department’s Menstrual Products in Schools webpage.

Ohio allocated $5 million in the state budget to support schools in providing free menstrual products for students, designating $2 million for installing dispensers and $3 million for product reimbursement. The Department will determine and distribute allocations for dispensers in fall 2023 based on the number of buildings in each district and students served. Additional information including the process for reimbursement for products will be available in spring 2024.

School districts, community schools and chartered nonpublic schools that enroll girls in grades six through 12 can request funding for dispensers by Sept. 15 using the Dispenser Funding Request form also found on the Department’s Menstrual Products in Schools webpage.
