Community Connectors grant application now open

For a third year, Ohio is investing $10 million in Community Connectors. The grant program urges community organizations, faith- or values-based groups, and businesses to partner to provide schools with mentors who serve as role models to students and motivate and inspire them. Faith- or values-based and civic nonprofit organizations are eligible to lead these projects.

IDEA Part B Federal Application for Federal Fiscal Year 2017 now available for review and public comment

All states making application for funds under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act are required to make available for public review and comment the application packet for federal funding. These are funds that support districts’ provision of special education services to Ohio children ages 3 to 21.

Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week, March 19-25

As part of Ohio’s Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week, and in conjunction with the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness, the state of Ohio will participate in a statewide tornado drill and test its Emergency Alert System on Wednesday, March 22 at 9:50 a.m. During this time, outdoor warning sirens will be tested.
