Nominations are open for the 2019 Ohio Teacher of the Year

The State Board of Education is accepting nominations for Ohio Teacher of the Year, now through April 13, 2018. The Ohio Teacher of the Year program has two levels of recognition: (1) the regional-level State Board District Teacher of the Year and (2) the state-level Ohio Teacher of the Year recognition. This program spotlights exceptional teachers statewide, celebrating their work inside and outside the classroom. Awardees become part of a national network of extraordinary educators.

College Credit Plus deadline approaching to declare intent to participate

Students who plan to take part in the fourth year of College Credit Plus need to begin the notification process for the 2018-2019 school year. Public high school students must notify their principals of their intent to participate in College Credit Plus by April 1. This includes students who took part in any of the first three years of College Credit Plus. The application window for nonpublic and home school students closes at 5 p.m. on April 13.

Students invited to youth-led rally at the Statehouse

The Ohio Youth-Led Prevention Network is hosting the 7th annual We Are the Majority Rally in Columbus April 19. The network invites all Ohio students to rally and march from Genoa Park to the Ohio Statehouse to promote mental health, wellness and drug-free lifestyles. Stipends are available to attend the rally. Additional event, stipend and registration details are available here.
