Nomination deadline extended for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching

The National Science Foundation has extended the nomination deadline for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) program to April 1, 2019. The teacher application deadline remains May 1. The award is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government for the teaching of grades 7-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics and computer science.

Register now for webinar: Expanding Opportunities for Each Child grant

The Ohio Department of Education is offering a second round of the Expanding Opportunities for Each Child grant. This opportunity is a three-year grant to expand access to and enrollment in advanced coursework for low-income students through the development of career pathways, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate opportunities. Districts can apply for individual grants for up to $250,000, depending on the district’s chosen area of focus.

IDEA Part B federal application for federal Fiscal Year 2019 now available for review

All states applying for funds under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) must make their application packets for the federal funding available for public review and comment. IDEA Part B funds support districts in providing special education services to Ohio children ages 3 to 21.
