Data review and data appeal windows open for CTE March (D) data

Monday, May 8 through Friday, May 19, superintendents of districts that offer career-technical education programming can conduct the required review of their 2017 March (D) Collections in EMIS. These data will affect their career technical planning districts’ technical skill attainment, placement and industry credential measures on the 2017 Ohio Career-Technical Education Report Cards.

Annual emergency management plan certification due July 1

Your school or district administrator must annually check and update relevant district emergency plans stored in SAFE to ensure that procedures and contact information are current for a given school. Certification of the plan requires an internal review by the school administrator.

Background check updates required for educators who have permanent and non-tax certificates

The Ohio Department of Education will begin sending out notices to educators who hold permanent certificates and permanent non-tax certificates who do not have updated background checks. State law requires educators who hold permanent certificates and permanent non-tax certificates to update their FBI criminal background checks every five years through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).
