Ebola update for nurses working in schools and early childhood settings webcast, Oct. 16

Nurses working in the school and/or early childhood setting are typically the only healthcare professional in the workplace. It is important to be able to provide timely, accurate information to the students, staff, families and other community members about current healthcare issues. It also is critical to understand the nurse’s role in disease surveillance and emergency preparedness regarding potential disease outbreaks.

This one hour presentation on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 2-3 p.m. is for nurses working in the school and/or early childhood setting and will provide current information about the Ebola virus and the nurse’s role in education, surveillance and emergency preparedness.

Update on new assessments for American history and American government

This year’s sophomores, juniors and seniors (classes of 2015-2017) are held to the Ohio Graduation Tests for graduation. However, any of these students taking American history or American government also must take the new state end-of-course tests due to state law that requires the instruction and assessment of the historic documents in American history and American government.

Learn about career certificate International Baccalaureate programs

Education leaders are invited to learn about the International Baccalaureate Career Certificate Program (IBCC) at a half-day session on Oct. 29 to be held at the educational service center in Independence (Cleveland area). Specialists from the International Baccalaureate Organization will describe the advantages of the program, which is for prekindergarten through high school students.
