It’s critical for districts to update Ohio Educational Directory roles and contact information

As districts maintain and continuously update their records in the secure Ohio Educational Directory System-Redesign (OEDS-R), they play a vital part in ensuring that their key staff members receive important information from the Ohio Department of Education. These ongoing district updates also ensure that the correct district-assigned administrators have valid “role” assignments that provide them with access to financial, student growth and other essential data. The department relies upon district role assignments and contact information in OEDS-R to conduct many functions including administering grants, maintaining data, verifying receipt of state funding and communicating the latest education news.

Reminder – plans for makeup of excess calamity days via online lessons or blizzard bags due July 31

Schools have the option to use online lessons or blizzard bags to make up days when schools close for circumstances such as hazardous weather conditions, disease epidemic, damage to school building, inoperability of buses or other equipment necessary to the school's operation, or temporary conditions making the school building unfit, such as utility failure. The online lessons or blizzard bags can be used to make up a maximum of three school days, or hours equivalent to three days.

Training scheduled for school Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning

A two-day training course for school Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning will be held Aug. 12-13 at Upper Sandusky High School. The course is designed to provide schools with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to refine or develop an all-hazards school emergency operations plan and to identify how to train and exercise the school plan.
