Orientation for Nurses New to Ohio Schools begins Aug. 12

The Ohio Department of Health is hosting the 2022 Orientation for Nurses New to Ohio Schools this August. The three-day virtual event will be Aug. 12, 19 and 26. Nurses licensed by the Ohio Board of Nursing who have not previously worked in Ohio schools should plan to attend. Event organizers will give priority registration to registered nurses with less than two years of experience in schools and those who have not previously attended the orientation.

Among the many topics that the orientation will address are:

• Communicable Disease and Emerging Infections;
• Ohio School Immunization Requirements;
• Documentation and Confidentiality (FERPA/HIPPA); and
• Accommodation of Food Allergies in the School Setting.
