Ohio’s Time: Education a centerpiece in Governor DeWine’s state budget recommendations

Ohio is focusing on literacy, accelerating learning, workforce readiness and student wellness and prioritizing these needs with an investment in children, families and school communities. Last week, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine released his recommendations for the biennial Executive Budget for Fiscal Years 2024 and 2025. The budget encompasses strategic priorities to help students recover from the impact of the pandemic and allocates significant resources to position Ohio students to graduate and succeed.

The budget recommendations are an expansion of the Department’s priorities outlined in Future Forward Ohio.

In the coming weeks, the Ohio Department of Education will be spotlighting different focus areas from the recommendations in EdConnection and on social media so the education community and all Ohioans can learn about the importance of these focus areas and how they will impact student growth.
