2023 EMIS Advisory Council Recommendation Report available

The 2023 EMIS Advisory Council Recommendation Report is available now. Among the recommendations are those developed with the council’s new EMIS Data Elements Workgroup. This workgroup was created to address district concerns about the volume of data they manage and report. As a result of this work, the council recommends a periodic review of the data elements to identify items that may no longer be in use. The workgroup also identified several EMIS data elements to be deleted, streamlined or clarified.

Ohio law authorizes the EMIS Advisory Council to make recommendations to the state superintendent of public instruction to improve EMIS. The council also provides a forum for collaboration between the Department and the education community to discuss collecting, reporting and using EMIS data.
