Nationwide Children’s seeking educators with experience teaching young children with cancer for research study

11/6/2023

Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Chief Clinical Research Officer and psychologist, Dr. Cynthia Gerhardt are seeking participants for a research study on the educational, psychological and social needs of young children with medical needs in the classroom.
Specifically, the study currently is seeking the perspectives of early educators and teachers of young children (preschool, kindergarten and early elementary school) who may have taught young children below the age of 7 who have been diagnosed with cancer or who have survived cancer.

Teachers of young children are invited to participate in a brief online survey and focus group that will take approximately one hour of their time. This study aims to adapt and develop an online program to better serve children impacted by cancer and to better partner with schools.

The survey link provides additional details about the survey and information about payment for participation by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
