Financial literacy resource for grades 3-5

10/11/2022

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is excited to share that it will again be offering the National Association of Economic Educators’ award-winning Danny Dollar Academy financial literacy program. The program promotes entrepreneurship, personal finance, civic responsibility and smart financial decision-making to students in grades 3, 4 and 5.

Danny Dollar is based on a financial literacy curriculum that accompanies the bestselling children’s book Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire: The Lemonade Escapade by Ty Allan Jackson.

As part of the program, which runs November 2022 through May 2023, educators will:

  • Receive a full financial literacy curriculum with recommended pacing guide (available as a printable PDF, publication or Google Doc);
  • Gain access to a series of short videos from the author about the importance of financial literacy;
  • Participate in a virtual 300-minute student activity in February or March;
  • Complete a classroom capstone project for the chance to win prizes; and
  • Receive access to attend a virtual or in-person visit with the book’s author in May.

To learn more about the program, educators are welcome to register for a professional development session this fall. For more information, visit the registration website.
