Apply now for 2024 Ohio Schools to Watch designation

The Ohio Schools to Watch application for 2024 is open. This program identifies model middle-grade schools that are academically excellent, developmentally responsive and socially equitable and have a culture of collaborative leadership. Schools must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply:

• Junior high schools, middle schools and K-8 schools;
• The school must serve young adolescents and house any combination of grades 5-9;
• The school must provide equitable opportunities and whole-child supports (for example, physical and mental health and wellness) as necessary to enable all students to experience social equity and pursue academic excellence; and
• There are no civil rights violations or adult testing irregularities at the school site.

After eligibility is secured, the final selection of schools will be based on how well each school meets the Schools to Watch criteria. Applications are due Friday, Dec. 15.
