Support for improving indoor air quality in schools

9/6/2022

The Department has developed a new Indoor Air Quality in Schools webpage to assist schools in improving the indoor air quality of their buildings. The website provides links to toolkits, action steps and financial opportunities to help with the implementation and planning processes.

Air quality improvements can help prevent the spread of disease, reduce absenteeism and reduce asthma triggers, such as pollutants and irritants. Upgrades to school facilities such as increasing fresh air ventilation and upgrading HVAC systems can improve comfort and health conditions and support student learning. These improvements also can reduce energy bills.
