Scholastic BookFlix addresses early literacy and the Third Grade Reading Guarantee

This new online literacy resource, offered through INFOhio, pairs classic video storybooks with related nonfiction e-books. The combination of read-aloud stories with read-along nonfiction builds phonemic awareness; develops phonics decoding skills; and strengthens vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. Many of the nonfiction titles are linked to learning standards in science, mathematics and social studies. Lexile scores are included. Learn more about BookFlix by clicking the Resources link in the upper right corner.

Here’s how to set up home access password for INFOhio resources

At school, students and teachers are automatically connected to INFOhio’s resources such as BookFlix. To use them from home, they need a username and password. Stipulations in the licensing agreements with the resource publishers do not allow INFOhio to post the username and password electronically, "but you can request the username and password by clicking Get My Password on www.infohio.org/student. In addition, most school systems have applied for their own username and password, which you can get from your school library media specialist or INFOhio provider at the district’s Information Technology Center (ITC).
