Join the Teacher Appreciation Week celebration

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and Ohio is recognizing the efforts of teachers and other members of the education community who are championing student growth and achievement in classrooms across the state.

Educators make a difference in countless ways by showing students the possibilities and giving them the tools to be successful. From early learning to career readiness, Ohio’s teachers create excitement for every learner and support all students to meet their goals.

From May 8-12, the Department encourages Ohioans to share Teacher Appreciation Week  celebrations on Twitter and Instagram using #OhioLovesTeachers and tagging the Department’s account using @OHEducation. This celebratory week also presents an opportunity to recognize other members of the education community:

• May 9: Teacher Appreciation Day
• May 10: School Nurse Day
• May 12: School Communicators Day and Child Care Provider Day

Last week, the Department celebrated several observances honoring specific education professionals:

• May 1: National School Principals’ Day and School Bus Driver Appreciation Day in Ohio
• May 5: School Lunch Hero Day
