COLUMBUS – Six Cuyahoga County schools, two Summit County schools and one school in Medina, Ashland and Wayne counties were among the seventeen Ohio schools recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools for the 2012 school year by the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE). Thirteen public schools along with four private schools were added the USDOE’s list of schools recently.
The Ohio Educator Standards Board monthly meeting will be Oct. 22-23 at the Quest Business Center, 8405 Pulsar Place, Columbus, Ohio 43240.
On Oct.22, the Standards and Licensure Committees will meet at 6 p.m. On Oct. 23, the full board convenes at 9 a.m. and the business meeting begins at 1:15 p.m.
COLUMBUS, OHIO − The Ohio departments of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and Education (ODE) have proposed new quality standards for child care providers and preschool operators. As part of Ohio’s Race to the Top – Early Learning Challenge grant, the state is expanding the successful Step Up To Quality rating system for child care providers to include all state-funded programs.
Additional preliminary Local Report Card data for district, traditional school, community school and STEM schools were released Wednesday by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). The updated spreadsheet includes preliminary district/school ratings, Performance Index and attendance rate information.
COLUMBUS – School and district ratings, the Performance Index and attendance rates for all Ohio schools and districts will be published next week after the State Board of Education approved a recommendation Tuesday from Acting Superintendent of Public Instruction Michael Sawyers to release an updated spreadsheet for the 2011-12 Local Report Cards.
