Jessica Voltolini, Interim Director

Dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for children and families through public policy, advocacy, and service, Jessica Voltolini brings a wealth of experience in state government, legislative affairs, and education law.
 
Before taking on the role of interim director at the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, Jessica served as chief of staff at the former Ohio Department of Education. In this position, she managed all agency functions, including those responsible for budget and school funding, policy and legislative affairs, legal counsel, and communications. Jessica has previously held positions as the director of policy and legislative affairs and assistant legal counsel at this Department.
 
As a licensed attorney in Ohio, Jessica served as senior counsel at Ice Miller, where her focus was on state-level legislative and executive government relations. Prior to joining Ice Miller, she worked as the deputy legislative liaison for Ohio Governor John R. Kasich's office, advocating for early childhood education, K-12 education, higher education, and workforce development. Jessica has also worked as in-house counsel for the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority, served as vice president of legal and legislative affairs at the Ohio Association of Public Charter Schools, and contributed as an attorney and policy advisor at the Ohio School Boards Association.
 
Jessica earned her Juris Doctorate, along with Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Capital University. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
