Important reminders for Ohio’s 2024-2025 assessments

8/13/2024

Review the following important reminders for Ohio’s assessments.

  • Educators with an Ohio assessment account must reset their passwords for the 2024-2025 school year. Users will not be able to access the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE), Test Administrator (TA) Interface, Centralized Reporting System (CRS), including the Teacher Assessment Scoring Center, or the Assessment Authoring System until they reset their passwords. Additionally, test coordinators should create new accounts or remove accounts as necessary to reflect any personnel changes.
  • Test security is an important part of ensuring valid and reliable student performance results. Ohio Administrative Code requires all schools and districts, by Oct. 1, to communicate in writing and discuss with all personnel who have access to secure test materials, as well as students taking tests, the applicable state and district test security policies.
  • The Test Administrator Certification Course is available for all district and school personnel who will be administering Ohio assessments online. New district and school personnel should complete the certification course in advance of testing and returning test administrators are highly encouraged to use the course as a refresher.
  • The fall Dropout Prevention and Recovery (DOPR) community schools extended Ohio’s State Tests (OST) window is Sept. 16-Nov. 22. A new 2024-2025 DOPR Test Administration Manual will be available on the OST test portal.
  • Item content for the Assessment Authoring System will be updated in September and will include newly released items and Spanish language content. The Assessment Authoring System allows teachers to build their own tests using items from the Ohio’s State Tests and Alternate Assessment for Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD) item libraries. Teachers can then administer these tests to their students.
  • The Readiness Assessments reopened Aug. 6 with updated content. More than 2.2 million Readiness Assessments were administered in school year 2023-2024. These tests are now continuously available to the Ohio education community.
  • The annual Ohio Assessment Conference is scheduled for Sept. 10-12. The agenda and registration form are available on the test portal. This conference is free to attend and offered in a half-day virtual format. Recordings of all sessions will be available following the conclusion of the conference.
