Apply to join 2022-2023 Heading to Kindergarten cohort

The Department is forming a new Heading to Kindergarten cohort for the 2022-2023 school year. Heading to Kindergarten supplies a structure, process, resources and technical assistance to support best practices. The program encourages collaboration between early care and education programs, public schools and community partners as a critical pathway to better child outcomes. During the 2021-2022 school year, seven teams of public school and Head Start professionals participated in the Heading to Kindergarten project.

School districts wishing to participate in the 2022-2023 cohort should complete an application by Friday, Oct. 21. Send the application to headstart@education.ohio.gov. The Department will announce cohort participants by Oct. 31.

Heading to Kindergarten helps schools, families and communities work together to meet the needs of the whole child. In addition, participating in this project will help districts meet the requirements of Title I and the Every Student Succeeds Act.
