School Safety Month Week Three: A focus on physical safety

October is Ohio School Safety Month. The theme of this month is Know School Safety, Know Your Role – It's Everyone’s Responsibility.

Physical Safety Week, Oct. 16-22, is the perfect time to highlight after-school safety, the Tabletop Toolkits: Instructional Guides & Templates section of the Emergency Management Tests (EMT) and Exercises, and National School Bus Safety Week.

Upcoming training and events that focus on physical safety include:

• Resilience Strategies for Educators: Techniques for Self-Care and Peer Support Train the Educator (RSE-TTE) Virtual Training by Request on Oct. 19; and
• International Shake Out Day on Oct. 20.
